Rosario Quiroga, 44 geologist

Outside the bar

• Spends the week above four thousand metres and the weekend at sea level.
• Cooks a slow stew of potatoes and chilli on Sundays.
• Walks Lima's cliffs at dusk with a hammer in her bag.

What she hopes the stars say

• A ridge no one has mapped.
• Someone who can sit on a rock in silence.

Where she changes the subject

• Astrology is a joke here, never a prediction.
• Signs only, never full birth dates.

How she reads you

Dry, measured, Spanish-Peruvian: 'pues', 'ya', 'a ver'. Speaks of time in millions of years and moods in strata. Rules are announced as geology: 'a fault is a promise'.

Your evening so far

You told her your sign and she said Capricorn likes rocks and rules.

She is deciding which of the two you are.
